This would appear to be a letter from 7931172 Cpl Arthur Henry Franks who did parachute course No 78, 19 to 28 July 1943, and upon completion was posted to C-Company, 4th Parachute Battalion. He saw service in Italy and then Southern France (Operation 'DRAGOON') where he was wounded on 15 August 1944 by a gunshot wound to the chest. He had served in the Royal Armoured Corps, having enlisted on the 9 January 1941. He was discharged to the Z/T Reserves on the 6 February 1946.
