This letter is from 2356839 Sgt George Seal, who served in No 3 Platoon, 21st Independent Parachute Company (Pathfinders), and was one of the few men of the unit to take part in the parachute operation ('FUSTIAN') in Sicily, 13/14 July 1943. In October/November he attended an Officer Cadet Training Unit and was commissioned.

Further information. Full name: George Henry Seal, enlisted into the Royal Corps of Signals 28 November 1940, and was discharged (upon commissioning) 28 November 1943.
