"Tony joined Junior Parachute Company, Guards Depot, Pirbright in 1986 with me. We went through Depot PARA in 523 Platoon. Depot PARA at the time was a very cruel maroon machine, especialy when you had a different colour skin, I know because I was there! We went to battalion in February 1987; Tony went to C Coy 3 PARA, where he was a very popular guy.
This photo is in one of the sangars at Palace Barracks on the 1989-91 tour. I believe I was the last Para Reg guy to see him; he visited my married quarters in Palace the night before to visit me and my wife (I was 1 PARA at the time). He was visiting his girlfriend at the time and the rest is sadly history! I named my second son after my dear friend Tony."
