Corporal Kevin Mulligan served with 1 PARA in Afghanistan and died on a Taliban ambush in the Lashkar Gah region of Helmand province, Southern Afghanistan.The Jackal he was travelling in was hit by an explosion and small arms fire. He died with L/Cpl Dale Hopkins and Pte Kyle Adams (also 1 PARA). Another soldier onboard was seriously injured.

Corporal Mulligan was aged 26 when he was killed.
