Airborne Assault MuseumAlasdair Hutton joined 15 PARA in B Company in Aberdeen in 1964 as a private soldier, moving to Glasgow in April that year and transferring to A Company.
After completing his para course at RAF Abingdon he was commissioned on 16 June 1965. He went on to command A Company, and was Battalion Second in Command (2-i-c) twice from 1979 to 1983, and from 1984 to 1986.
