Thomas Wray was born in West Hartlepool, County Durham, and joined the 1st (Airborne) Battalion The Royal Ulster Rifles.On 6 June 1944 he landed by glider in Normandy on Landing Zone N.

Lance Corporal Wray was killed on 7 June 1944, aged 22. He is buried in Ranville Churchyard.
