Private Alroy John Armstrong, son of John and Bronwyn Armstrong, of Leicester, served with 9th Parachute Battalion. He took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 5-6 June 1944.Private Armstrong died on 6 June 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
