Alan Calvert Dixon was born in Lincoln on 8 May 1921.After volunteering for airborne forces, Lance Corporal Dixon was posted to the 6 (Airborne) Divisional Provost Company, Royal Military Police Corps. He served in Palestine and died on 31 October 1947.

L/Cpl Dixon is buried in Khayat Beach War Cemetery, Israel.
