Richard Hoyle was commissioned into The Parachute Regiment on 2 August 1968.As a Major he held various posts including Training Major 10 PARA, SO2 HQ Cyprus, Officer Commanding B Coy 1 PARA and finally Training Major 2 UDR prior to his retirement from the Army in 1986.
