John Selkirk served as the SSgt I/c 5 A/B LAD REME Aldershot 1985.

John enlisted into the REME in 1970 and completed 23 years in The British Army, ending his service as a WO1 (ASM).

He was a SSgt Artificer at 10 Airborne Workshop and was the Artificer who set up The 5th Airborne Brigade LAD at Montgomery Lines in 1985-6.

John was one of the Workshop Team who trained those wishing to become a Para and go onto the Pre Parachute Jump Instruction Course.
