Back to Private Victor Cox Photographs

The photograph shows a very interesting selection of uniform typical of the period 1945/46. The men all appear to be wearing new uniforms: three can be seen to wear collarless shirts; three are wearing U.S. made shirts (with collars and pockets); the rest are wearing the British army issue collar attached shirts which were introduced in late 1944. All are wearing battledress trousers – mainly of utility pattern so post 1943. They wear a selection of belts: 1937 pattern web belt, naval issue money belt, 1937 pattern strap, various leather belts.
