It was also used as the tactical recognition flash for 36 Engineer Regiment, 5 Airborne Brigade, the parent unit of 9 Para Sqn RE.
It also became the DZ Flash for 51 Parachute Squadron RE.
This flash was replaced in 2008 by a new Regimental DZ/ Tactical Recognition Flash for all members of 23 Engineer Regiment (Air Assault).
