The Ride of Respect saw friends of Pte Martin Bell GC, who was killed in 2011 while serving in Afghanistan with 2 PARA, cycle the 220 miles from his home town of Bradford to Colchester, where he was based. The ride raised £2,150 with the Yorkshire Building Society donating another £2,000 to the total.

The proceeds were used by the charity to buy a new wheelchair for Sgt Paddy Caldwell, who was injured while serving with 3 PARA in Afghanistan in 2006.
